The list page shows every branded link you own with its click count.
Type it into the "Custom Alias" field — at least 3 characters, letters, numbers and hyphens only. The page checks live and shows "Available" or "Taken". A short list of protected brand names is reserved.
Paste the long URL into "Destination URL".
"Password (Optional)" asks visitors for a password before the link resolves; "Expiration (Optional)" stops the link at a date. Both are included from the Launch plan; the link itself is free on every plan.
A toast confirms the full /r address and you land back on the Branded Links list.
The copy icon next to an alias copies the full link. The count in the table is link clicks, bumped once per redirect.
These are the real states you can hit, and they are not the same thing: an empty list, a read that failed, and a feature that is not built are shown differently in the app on purpose.
What it means: Another link already uses it, or it is a reserved brand name.
What to do: Pick a different alias.
What it means: Password protection and expiration dates are plan entitlements from Launch up; your plan does not include them.
What to do: Create the link without them, or upgrade.
What it means: The read failed. The page shows a failed-read notice rather than an empty table, because an empty list here would not be proof you have no links.
What to do: Reload the page; your links are still stored.
